Inspired by James Nestor’s groundbreaking book Breath, this workshop will take a deeper look at how modern breathing habits may be limiting our physical, mental, and emotional well-being — and how simple changes can unlock our full potential. We’ll begin by exploring a series of accessible, beneficial breathing techniques you can integrate into your daily life. Then, we’ll embody these practices through a slow, intentional Hatha yoga sequence designed to deepen your breath awareness and enhance your lung capacity. Throughout the workshop, we will discuss key insights from Breath, including:

•The problems associated with chronic mouth breathing and the transformative benefits of nasal breathing

•How cultivating slower, deeper breaths can dramatically improve lung capacity and vitality

•The surprising connection between chewing and structural health

•A brief exploration of more advanced breathing techniques for continued growth
