Running has a way of bringing people together. Whether you’re training for your first 5K, chasing a marathon PR, or simply looking for a reason to get outside after work, joining a running group can make every mile a little more enjoyable.
St. Louis has an incredible running community with clubs for every pace, experience level and goal. Some groups are focused on performance and race training, while others are all about meeting new people, exploring different neighborhoods or grabbing a beer or coffee after the run. Many are completely free, making them an easy way to stay active while building friendships and accountability along the way.
Below you’ll find some of the best running clubs and running groups in the St. Louis area. Before heading out, be sure to check each group’s website or social media for the latest schedules, locations and weather updates.

- Arrive 10–15 minutes early to meet the group.
- Don’t worry about your pace—many clubs have multiple pace options.

Outdoor Running Groups in St. Louis
Three Run Four is a low-pressure running group for all-levels, run by Jay Pippi. It offers a safe & inclusive running space without pace pressure. Three Run Four meets every Thursday for a 2-3 mile run at 6:30pm at 4 Hands Brewery in downtown St. Louis. Stay after for a community hang – your first beer is FREE.
St. Louis Run Crew is a community-based running crew that’s open to all and lead by Ricky Hughes. Ricky’s mission is to create spaces for movement & connection and these runs fit the bill. Expect a diverse crew that enthusiastically shows up multiple times each week. For 2026, they meet Tuesdays at 6pm at Tower Grove Park for a 1,2 or 3 mile route, Saturdays for longer runs (6, 8 or 10 miles) at 5:45am at various Coffee Shops across STL, and on the first Sunday of the month at 9am at Citygarden Sculpture Park for a 1-2 mile run/walk. They are also offering a Sunset & Snowcone tour at various Great River Greenways, which are family friendly. Check their Instagram for location updates!
Plein Air Run Club is new for 2026 and organized by Lucy Short (@YogiSpiceSTL). Drop in or become a member for weekly 3 mile runs on Tuesday nights at 6:30pm in Forest Park with curated playlists. May – October.
Hey Girl Run Club is specifically for girls in their 20’s and 30’s that are looking for a fun, non-intimidating group to run with – no PR’s, no cliques, just run, walk or jog for 30 mins. Join the runs free, every Sunday AM 9am in Tower Grove Park, meet at The Turkish Pavilion 5-10 mins before start time.
Fleet Feet Running Clubs – Fleet Feet offers social runs from three store locations. Fleet Feet Des Peres meets on Mondays, at 5:45pm for 2, 3, 4 and 5 mile routes. Fleet Feet South County kicks off weekly Saturday runs on May 30th at 7:45am. Fleet Feet St. Charles hosts Thursday evening runs at 5:45pm with 1-5 mile routes.
Big River Running Club – Every Monday Big River Running offers 2 run clubs that start and end in store locations – South City & University City. Runs start at 5:45 pm throughout the year, no matter the weather. Runners and walkers of all ages, paces, and fitness levels are welcome. Bring your dog, push a stroller, the more the merrier!
Dogtown Running Club – Join this all-paces welcome running club for 3 weekly runs, rain or shine, all year round. Tuesdays they meet at the SLUH Medical Center track at 6am, Wednesdays at Heavy Riff Brewery in Dogtown at 6pm and Saturdays at 8am in Forest Park.
KINNECT Collective – Led by Sydney Walker, this women’s walking/running group meets the 2nd Saturday of the month at 9:30am at Creve Coeur lake for a 4 mile loop. Stick around for a yoga cooldown, led by Sydney on the sand volleyball courts.

Running Niche – This running store in South St. Louis hosts a running club on Wednesday Nights at 6:30pm with a 5K route that all paces are welcome at.
O’Fallon Ladies On The Run – This women’s running group is based in O’Fallon, IL and is for runners of all abilities. Led by Bethany Bouqut, an injury prevention run coach, O’Fallon Ladies On The Run offers 3 weekly group runs. Tuesdays at 5:15am at The Goshen Trailhead, Thursdays at 6pm and Saturdays at 7am at Sweet Katie Bee’s. On Saturday mornings, sticks around for a coffee chat after the group run.
Metro Milers – This run club is based in Edwardsville, IL. Metro Milers offers group runs on Wednesday evenings and Saturday AM. They also do monthly brunch runs on the first Sunday of each month.
Run It Back – This adult track + field club that creates space for St Louisan’s to keep pushing their limits thru weekly workouts, community events and track meets. They meet 2x per week at the SLUH Medical Center Stadium – Wednesday’s at 6pm and Saturday’s at 9am for practice and host track meets 3x per year to encourage a little friendly competition.
Belleville Running Club – Based in Belleville, IL, this running group meets 2x per week – Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings for 3 & 5 mile run options.
Happy’s Running Club – Join this weekly run & walk club every Tuesday at 6pm at City Park Grill in St. Louis, MO. Join the crew and get perks like gear discounts, crew t-shirt, beer specials and more.
Sheng Runners – This running club consists of runners with Chinese heritage in the St. Louis area.
Spewak Racing – This memebership based run club is a 501c3 non-profit organization that that trains and races together. membership costs $100/year and includes access to member-only events, racing kits and discounts.
St Louis Track Club -is a St. Louis non-profit that meets the 3rd monday of the month at 6pm for social run, alternating between the Schlafly Tap Room and the Schlafly Bottleworks.
St. Louis Ultrarunners Group – No membership needed to join their group runs. Join them on Saturdays at different parks and greenspaces across STL. All levels welcome. Typical group distances are 4-6 miles and 10+ miles.

One of the best things about these St. Louis running clubs is that you don’t have to be fast to belong. Whether you’re looking for race training, accountability, new friendships or simply an excuse to spend more time outside, there’s a group that’s ready to welcome you.
