The Daily Bread is the perfect spot for a quick meal with family, friends or coffee date with colleagues.

Overview of The Daily Bread Bakery & Cafe

You will love this casual, neighborhood destination for homemade pastries, breakfast, lunch, and desserts.  It’s perfect for a coffee break with a friend/colleague or quick meal with the family.  They make EVERYTHING from scratch using quality ingredients & local produce – from the bagels to the baked goods, even the salad dressings & granola are homemade! The café menu is packed with delicious choices available year-round plus they offer seasonal specials to keep your tastebuds delighted.   A visit isn’t complete with something sweet – their iced cookies and croissants are to die for! They also offer retail items like homemade jams, salsas, and cookie trays if you are in need of a hosting gift.  Catering services are also available – try using them for your next event!

The Space at The Daily Bread

The Daily Bread is a casual dining establishment – you order at the counter, then seat yourself.  Your name will be called when your food is ready for pick up from the kitchen.   They have indoor or outdoor tables (weather permitting) of various sizes.  At peak times, this place can get busy and the line to order quite long.  But fear not – the food is worth it, and the line moves pretty fast!

Consider yourself warned – the flow of traffic inside ensures you walk past rows and rows of freshly baked goods before ordering – it’s so very tantalizing!

What To Eat & Drink at The Daily Bread

You really can’t go wrong at The Daily Bread.  My favorites are their homemade soups and baked goods.  They take pride in their house roasted coffee beans and offer a suite of flavored teas.  If you can’t decide – get the “Daily Double” which allows you to try 2 items (choice of ½ sandwich, cup of soup or ½ salad).  Items featured below are those my family & I have been enjoyed recently and photography was taken:

Breakfast

  • Almond Croissant – Perfection!  Flaky outside topped with almond slices & powdered sugar.  I had to beg my kids to give me a bite of this as they also enjoyed it so much.  The marzipan center was absolute heaven.
  • Bagels – Try the Cinnamon Chip!  They will slice like bread if you prefer it.
  • Eggs + Bacon – My breakfast-loving kids are thrilled that you can get these anytime!
  • Oatmeal– 2 toppings are included, add more for an additional charge.
  • Overnight Oats – with fresh berries, granola and chia seeds
  • Breakfast Sandwiches – build your own; choices of bread & meat.
greek salad with salmon, cucumbers, kalamata olives, red onions and cherry tomato. cup of tortellini soup topped with cheese. half chicken salad sandwich on ciabatta.
Lunch Options include Pizza, Salad, Soups & Sandwiches. Left: Greek Salad with Salmon. Right: Half Chicken Salad Sandwich with Tortellini Soup.

Lunch – They also have a wood fire pizza oven – I look forward to trying the pizza on my next visit!

  • Tortellini Soup – Souper delicious!  I’ve been dreaming about this one and need to get back soon for another bowl before it comes off their seasonal menu.  Cheese tortellini in a salty, warm beef broth with chunks of steak and cuts of veggies.
  • Chicken Salad Sandwich served on Ciabatta – The chicken salad was very good, however the sandwich was just ok.  I think the ratio of chicken salad to bread was off for me and next time I would either try something else OR get it on different bread – maybe wheat.
  • Greek Salad with Salmon – Tender bits of salmon, fresh veggies like cucumber, cherry tomato, kalamata olives.  The homemade salad dressing was light and flavorful.  Served with a homemade roll.
desserts from the Daily Bread. iced sugar cookie in the shape of a St Louis Cardinals hat, large double sugar cookie. flaky almond croissant topped with powdered sugar.
Some of the families favorite treats. Left: Iced sugar cookie + Double Sugar Cookie. Right: Almond Croissant – highly recommend!

Desserts

  • Cookies – We have had several types of their homemade cookies, and they have all been worth it.  Try the Chocolate dipped Toffee Pecan Cookie, it’s bomb!  Also you can’t go wrong with their delicious seasonally cut & decorated iced cookies.   Buttery soft cookie with sweet icing, heaven!  These are adorable and perfect to surprise your loved ones with for an after-school treat.
  • Double Chocolate Chip Brownie – Chewy & fudgy with large chocolate chips for added texture and crunch.

Pricing:

  • Bagels $1.50+
  • Baked Goods $2.50+
  • Breakfast $5-10
  • Salads, Sandwiches, Pizza $9-15
