3 Group Fitness Classes to Know in St. Louis – October 2025
October 2025 Edition
If you’re anything like me, you crave variety in your workouts — something fresh, energizing, and maybe even a little outside your comfort zone. Each quarter, I’ll be spotlighting three group fitness classes worth checking out in the St. Louis area — classes that are fun, approachable, and led by amazing instructors who make movement something to look forward to. Check back regularly for new classes to love!
This Fall these three group fitness classes deserve a spot on your radar. Whether you’re in the mood to move, sweat, or flow, these local studios and instructors are redefining what it means to have fun while getting fit.
From boot-scootin’ cardio to mindful movement and reformer shakes, here are three group fitness classes to know (and love) in St. Louis this month:
💃 1. Urban Line Dancing (or Two Step Fitness) — HERwellness by Her
Why you’ll love it:
Forget everything you think you know about line dancing — this class is straight-up joy. Led by the magnetic Lauriel Bristol, Two Step Fitness blends fun, rhythm, and fitness into one empowering experience. Bristol’s energy is absolutely contagious — she’s a firecracker of motivation in cowgirl boots, making every step easy to learn and impossible not to smile through.
Even if you have 2 left feet, Bristol will break it down for you and make you feel at home. By the end of the class, you will break a sweat with a smile and have mastered a “slide” to take straight to the dance floor.
If you want to dance, laugh, and get a sneaky good cardio workout — this one’s for you.

🧘♂️ 2. Vinyasa Flow — with Yogi Emmet Schmelig
Why you’ll love it:
Emmet Schmelig is a local yoga legend — and for good reason. He’s taught at countless studios in St. Louis and been a part of over 100 yoga teacher certifications. His Vinyasa Flow classes are a blend of thoughtful movement, anatomy-based teaching, and wisdom that goes far beyond the mat. Emmet brings decades of experience to each class, weaving in anatomy, alignment, and the deeper purpose of yoga. He makes yoga fun & challenging!
Whether you’re new to yoga or have been practicing for years, Emmet’s classes teach you why you move — not just how. Expect gentle correction, deep knowledge, and a new level of body awareness from a teacher who’s been guiding yogis for decades. You’ll walk out feeling stronger, more centered, and full of gratitude — not just for the stretch, but for the joy he brings to movement.

💪 3. FORME – Reformer Pilates at La Forme Fitness
Why you’ll love it:
If you’re looking for a workout that delivers results, La Forme’s 45-minute modern reformer Pilates class will challenge and change you. The slow, controlled movements target multiple muscle groups simultaneously, building strength and sculpting long, lean lines that Pilates is famous for. This high-intensity, low-impact workout will test muscles you didn’t know you had – expect the shakes, embrace the burn.
Local STL owner, Erin Fahs, has created a warm, upscale studio where community matters and your time is respected. The instructors are highly trained, hands-on with form corrections, and genuinely invested in your progress. Weekends at La Forme are a chance for you to experience locally-owned businesses with their pop-ups! Come experience what makes La Forme a non-negotiable part of so many members’ weeks.
