Paddleboarding Fitness Classes in St. Louis
Enjoy floating on the water while connecting to your mind, body, breath! Nothing feels more freeing than yoga on a paddleboard; everyone who loves water should try one of these classes. Big Muddy Adventures offers classes at 2 locations in St. Louis – Simpson Lake & Forest Park.
Big Muddy Adventures at Simpson Lake
Big Muddy Adventures at Simpson Lake in Valley Park, MO offers boat & paddleboard rentals Thursday thru Sunday 10am-7pm.
- Enjoy a 1 hour Paddleboard Yoga & Meditation Class for only $5 on Thursdays at 8am AM and select Saturdays at 6pm this summer. Bring your own paddleboard or rent one.
- Kids aged 9-16 can take Paddle Freely Classes on Saturdays from 3-4:30pm. They will learn standup paddleboard basics from an instructor then enjoy some free paddle time.
Big Muddy Adventures at The Boathouse
Big Muddy Adventures at The Boathouse in Forest Park also offers rentals April – October 31st, 7 days a week 11am – 6 or 7pm depending on the month. Check their website for the latest hours.
- Enjoy $5 Paddleboard Yoga & Meditation Classes throughout the summer. The 9am Friday mornings are co-hosted by Amy Lynn Yoga, and 7pm Monday evenings are co-hosted by Central West End Yoga.
Outdoor Running Clubs in St. Louis
Running is not just about the miles, it’s about the camaraderie, accountability, and those post-run endorphins. Lace up & find your running mates in one of these St. Louis based run clubs.
Three Run Four is a low-pressure running group for all-levels. They meet every Thursday for a 2-3 mile run at 6:30pm at 4 Hands Brewery in downtown St. Louis. Stay after for a community hang – your first beer is FREE.
St. Louis Run Crew is a community-based running crew that’s open to all and lead by Ricky Hughes. Ricky’s mission is to create spaces for movement & connection and these runs fit the bill. Expect a diverse crew that enthusiastically shows up multiple times each week. For 2025, they meet on Tuesdays at 6pm at Tower Grove Park and on Sundays at 9am at Kiener Plaza. Outdoor Barre Classes in St Louis
Barre STL hosts 45 minute classes in Rockwell Beer Garden at Francis Park most Saturdays at 9:30am and occasional Sunday evenings at 7pm thru September. Be sure to bring your own yoga mat, and an optional set of light weights (1-3lbs). Expect a full body workout that combines low-impact strength-training, cardio bursts, and rejuvenating stretching. Sign up on their website in advance, individual classes are $20.
Outdoor Group Bike Rides in St. Louis
If you love to cycle outdoors there are a number of outfitters and options available in the St. Louis area.
- Big Shark Bicycle Co offers a free weekly group rides every Saturday at 7:30am from their 2 locations. Check their events website for details and maps of the routes.
- St Louis Recreational Cyclists offers group rides multiple times per week with routes between 20-50 miles all over the St Louis region.
- The Hub, a community-based bicycle shop in Webster Groves offers a Saturday AM group rides for beginner, intermediate and advanced riders starting at 7:30am, from April thru October. Route distances range from 18-30 miles and cover parts of Webster, Kirkwood and Ladue.
- Trailnet hosts bike races all over the St. Louis area as well as slower paced rides that explore St Louis’ culture and history. They have several events planned for 2025 including the upcoming Bottleneck Bridge Ride in Festus on August 17th and the Giro Della Montana on The Hill on August 31st. See their website for details.
- Regulators Cycling Club hosts Tuesday evening community rides from St. Ferdinand Park in Florissant, MO. Their missing is to create community through cycling in the Greater St. Louis & Illinois Metropolitan area.
- Big Muddy Adventures co-hosts monthly family friendly bike rides with vanimal in Forest Park. They roll out from the Boathouse with all ages in tow. After the ride, vanimal sets up a fun obstacle course and balance bikes for little riders to experience. These monthly events are FREE.

- Explore STL Parks offers a free weekly kid-friendly hike and playgroup on Wednesdays at 9:30am. This group loves to explore nature all over the St Louis area and offers relaxed, go at your own pace hikes. They also sometimes offer weekend hikes as well. Group Kayaking Classes In St. Louis
Matt Fox of Big Muddy Adventures leads a wildlife tour that will navigate you thru the pristine waters unveiling the diverse ecosystem that thrives at these lakes. This unique adventure blends education and exploration, revealing the vibrant urban wildlife all around us.
